Thousands of Dollars of Damage Reported at Audrain County Structure Fire
About $40,000 in damage is being reported following a fire at a wood shop at an Audrain County home on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The Little Dixie Fire Protection District was dispatched to the Charles Marquett Jr. residence on Audrain Road 335 in reference to a structure fire around 9 on Friday morning.
According to the press release upon arrival crews found a 24 ft. by 100 ft. structure containing a wood shop on the eastern portion and a residence on the western portion.
The 24 ft. by 34 ft. wood shop was fully involved in heavy flames and was spreading to the living area.
Firefighters made an aggressive attack of the wood shop and the spread of the fire was stopped from entering the living area.
Little Dixie Fire Protection District reports the cause of the fire was the result of an electrical malfunction.
