KWWR Sports Report 1/16/2025
The Mexico High School girls basketball team lost 65-54 to Liberty Wentzville in round 2 of the Warrenton Varsity Girls Winter Shootout on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The Lady Bulldogs scoring was led by Claire Hudson with 13 points.
Alyssa Miller with 13 points.
Grace Hudson finished the game with 10 points.
Scottie Smith put up 9 points.
Mexico head coach Mackenzie Mudd said, “We made a lot of mistakes early and dug ourselves in a hole in the first half. I was proud of the effort and comeback in the second half to improve on a lot of different aspects of the game.”
The Mexico girls will play Francis Howell North for 3rd place on Friday, January 17th at 7pm.
University of Missouri women’s basketball will travel to face 13th ranked Oklahoma on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm.
The St. Louis Cardinals announced Wednesday, the signing of 12 free-agent players representing the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama, Mexico and Nicaragua on the first day of Major League Baseball’s international signing period for 2025.
Five infielders, four outfielders, two pitchers, and one catcher were among the signees who will all be assigned to the Dominican Summer League.
All of the players are being signed for the 2025 minor league season and are subject to MLB approval.
The St. Louis Blues host the Calgary Flames at the Enterprise Center on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
