The Mexico Lady Bulldogs fell to the Southern Boone Lady Eagles 59-52 on the road on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
Claire Hudson put up 21 points and Alyssa Miller had a 14 point outing.
In High School Basketball last night (Wednesday) starting off with girls games:
- Jefferson City fell to Smith Cotton 48-42
- Helias beat St. James 54-40
- Centralia Lady Panthers took down Fayette 70-29
- Harrisburg outlasted Linn 51-49
- Blair Oaks edged out Fulton 47-45
- The Marshall Lady Owls beat Hallsville 45-31
- New Haven earned a 27-25 victory over Montgomery County
In Boys action:
- Rock Bridge over Parkway North 67-56
- Westran defeated Salisbury 58-44
- South Callaway lost to New Franklin 52-41
- Paris defeated Sturgeon 65-49
The Mexico High School girls wrestling team competed at the Tom Beck Lexington Scramble at the Lexington High School on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
Alexus Johns was 3-0 and earned a first place finish.
Addison Paden went 2-0 for a first place finish.
Marli Herrera went 1-1 and took second place.
Jazzmin Torres was 1-1 for a second place finish.
University of Missouri women’s basketball will face No. 5/7 Texas at 8pm Thursday at Moody Center.
The contest will air nationally on SEC Network.
Missouri (12-10, 1-6) is coming off a victory over Mississippi State on Monday. Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter made a layup at the buzzer to give the Tigers a 78-77 victory.
Slaughter tallied a career-high 31 points, six rebounds and a steal.
The sophomore ranks fifth in the SEC in free throw percentage at 85.2% and 17th in scoring average at 14.7 points per game.
Senior forward Laniah Randle added 14 points, four rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block to contribute to the winning effort.
Randle is averaging 1.9 steals per game, putting her at 11th in the conference.
Junior guard Ashton Judd notched 14 points for the Tigers and shot a career-best 7-of-7 performance from the free-throw line.
Judd is averaging 13.3 points in league play along with 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists on the year.
As a team, the Tigers lead the SEC and are sixth nationally with a 3-point field goal percentage of 38.2 percent.
Sophomore guard Abbey Schreacke is second in the SEC and is tied for 32nd in the country with 51 3-pointers this season.
With the 51 triples, Schreacke is tied for third among all program sophomores for 3-pointers made in a season.
Schreacke also ranks seventh in the SEC in 3-point percentage (39.2).
Slaughter is eighth in the country in 3-point percentage (45.7) among athletes who average 1.5+ makes per game this season.
Redshirt sophomore Averi Kroenke ranks fourth in the conference and 13th in the country with a 2.80 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Thursday will mark the first meeting between the teams in the SEC. The program’s last faced off on March 21, 2026.
Texas enters Monday at 20-2 including a 6-1 mark in SEC play following a win over Ole Miss on Sunday.
The Longhorns are coached by Vic Schaefer who is in his fifth year with the program and has amassed a 129-34 record.
Texas is led by Madison Booker and Taylor Jones who average 16.1 and 12.4 points per game, respectively.
