KWWR Sports Report 2/4/2025
The Mexico Bulldogs boys basketball team will hit the road for a game against the Warrenton Warriors on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Tipoff is set for 6:30pm.
The Mexico High School boys wrestling team took third place at the North Central Missouri Conference Tournament held at the Moberly Area Community College on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Watson Azdell earned his 100th career victory at the event.
Unofficially, Mexico had eight wrestlers earn All-Conference honors.
They included Carlos Juarez Ramirez, Evan Blair, Brayden Arnold, Watson Azdell, Kyler Carr, Grant Van Horn, Grant Walker and Travis Shramek.
The Mexico High School girls wrestling team recorded it’s 50th dual win in school history at the North Central Missouri Conference Tournament.
Abby Bowen and Alexus Johns earned 1st team honors. Sherlyn Mena and Jazzmin Torres earned 2nd team honors.
In high school basketball on 2/3/2025:
- In opening night of the Southern Boone Classic, the Southern Boone boys lost to Gateway Legacy 50-40
- The Wright City boys defeated Mark Twain 61-37
- The Montgomery County girls were victorious over Van-Far 53-29
- Community R-VI Lady Trojans defeated Bunceton 49-34
- The Boonville Lady Pirates cruised past Marshall 75-29
The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team cracked the teens in the coaches poll on Monday, February 3, 2025.
The Tigers landed at No. 16 in Monday’s updated USA Today Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches, a rise of five spots from last week.
The Tigers currently are third in the SEC standings and have won six of their past seven games.
