Confirmed EF-2 Tornado Causes Damage in Pilot Grove
The National Weather Service reports the tornado that hit the Pilot Grove area in Cooper County during the morning hours of Wednesday, April 2, 2025, was an EF-2.
EF-2 tornadoes pack winds of up to 135 miles per hour.
Trees and power lines were brought down and some buildings were destroyed.
Cooper County officials said no one was hurt or killed, and the tornado was on the ground for about five miles.
Downed trees also caused the state to close the Katy Trail near Pilot Grove.
