Mexico Man Charged With Sexual Assault
A Mexico man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor after a 14-year-old victim reported on May 12th that 37-year-old David E. Power had assaulted her.
When deputies attempted to arrest Power on May 31st, he led law enforcement on a high speed chase on Highway 54 near Laddonia. The chase reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. When the chase reached Highway EE, near Callaway County Road 1005, Power crashed his vehicle.
While chasing after Power, one of the deputies was involved in a one vehicle accident. He was taken to University Hospital for treatment for a concussion.
On top of his charges for abusing the minor, he is also facing multiple charges for leading the cops on a high speed chase. A no-bond warrant was issued for Power’s arrest.
