Final Report Released Shows Pilot Impaired In Fatal Boone County Plane Crash

A toxicology report released today (Thursday) is showing psychoactive drugs to be the main contributing factor in a 2017 Boone County fatal plane crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board released its final analysis of the crash and say toxicology test results indicated that the pilot 67 year old Charles McCutcheon had used cocaine, methamphetamine, clonazepam, and diphenhydramine before the accident.

The report also said that a deficency in McCuthcheon’s left eye from a previous brain injury also was a factor in failure to maintain adequate altitude during final approach to landing.

49 year old Bryan Roth was also killed in the crash.
