Human Remains Found West of Fulton

A death investigation is underway by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office after human remains were found west of Fulton yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Callaway County deputies went to the 5000 block of County Road 311, off State Road F, around 2:41 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, after an area resident reported walking through an area of woods, and discovered possible human remains.

Investigators confirmed the remains as human.

A secondary extensive search was then conducted yesterday (Sunday) and further remains were recovered.

The remains were taken to the Boone-Callaway County Medical Examiner’s office to determine a cause and manner of death.

Callaway County Sheriff’s Office says according to early investigative findings foul play is not suspected.

Deputies have determined a possible identity of the remains, and are now waiting on the medical examiner’s office for a positive id.
