Moreau Heights Elementary School In Jefferson City Mourns Death Of Teacher

Students and staff at the Moreau Heights Elementary School in Jefferson City are mourning the loss of a fourth grade teacher that was killed in an accident in Columbia over the weekend.

According to a Facebook post from the school 25 year old Katie Paul taught fourth grade at the school.

Columbia Police say 25 year old Kelsey Stephens was driving east on Ash Street just past midnight on Saturday, when her car hit Paul and Patricia Beasley while they were walking and crossing Ash at Eighth Street.

Paramedics took Beasley and Paul, to the University Hospital where Paul died.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
