Thirteen Year Old Boy Fatally Shot In Columbia

A 19 year old Columbia man is facing charges of First Degree Murder after a fatal shooting of a 13 year old boy in the 4400 block of Rice Road on Saturday night.

According to Columbia Police it happened just before midnight, and 19 year old Cameron J. White was arrested in the 4500 block of Orchard Lane.

The 13 year old was taken to a local trauma center where he was pronounced dead.

The juvenile was a student at the Oakland Middle School.

Counselors are being made available by the district to students.
