Audit Planned for Marshall and Smithville School Districts

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway said yesterday (Wednesday) her office will audit the Marshall School District and the Smithville R-II School District after receiving petitions from residents of those districts.

According to the Marshall Superintendent the board of education is set to meet next week with the State Auditor’s office as they prepare to start the external audit of the school district.

The State Auditor’s Office estimates the cost to the district to be eighty five thousand to one hundred thousand dollars.
