Second Suspect Arrested in Boone County Murder

A second mean is behind bars after an arrest in connection with a killing in west Columbia last month.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says they arrested 22 year old Malik Townsend of Columbia yesterday (Tuesday) for the murder of Jakob Cole on February 15th.

Cole died after being shot in the 4700 block of West Millbrook Drive over forty dollars.

According to court records Townsend is accused of getting out of a vehicle and shooting Cole multiple times before leaving the scene.

19 year old Tyreese Perkins of Columbia is also charged with the first-degree murder in the killing of Jakob Cole.
