Ashland State Representative Files for Vicky Hartzler’s Seat

A Republican State Representative from southern Boone County is now running to replace Vicky Hartzler in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sara Walsh of Ashland announced her candidacy yesterday (Wednesday).

Her district includes southern Boone County and parts of Cooper, Moniteau, and Cole counties.

She was first elected to the Missouri legislature in 2017 and won re-election in 2018 and 2020.

Walsh will face other Republican candidates Ed Emery, a former state Senator and former Boone County Clerk Taylor Burks.

Only one Democrat has filed thus far, Jeff Leathers from Archie, Missouri.
