New Amish Community in Montgomery County Brings Different Types of Traffic to Roadways

A new community is settling into Montgomery County and with it comes a learning curve for motorists.

Amish families are settling in an area off of Highway 161 and Highway A in the Middletown area and with that comes new construction, new businesses, and investment.

It also brings horses and buggies, something Sheriff Craig Allison is wanting people to be aware of, be alert to, and slow down for.

Sheriff Allison says caution signs will be installed by MoDOT soon as an extra reminder to the motoring public.
