KWWR Sports Report 11/12/21
The 8-2 Mexico Bulldogs will host the 9-2 Blair Oaks Falcons tonight (Friday) in the Class 3 District 5 Championship game.
The last time the 2 teams played was November 3rd, 2017 in a District Championship game that Blair Oaks won 60-14 in Wardsville.
The winner advances to the Sectionals of the high school football playoffs.
Kickoff at 7pm.
In other District championship games for area high school football playoffs tonight:
- In a clash of the undefeated the 10-0 Hallsville Indians are at home against the 10-0 Bowling Green Bobcats
- Fayette (10-1) hosts Sweet Springs with Malta Bend (8-3)
- Monroe City (10-1) is at home playing Mark Twain (10-1)
- Marceline (9-1) hosts Highland (8-3)
- Macon (7-4) travels to Maryville (6-4)
- Undefeated Hannibal Pirates (10-0) at home against the Jefferson City Jays (6-4) (Rematch from week 2 when Hannibal defeated Jefferson City 40-13)
Mizzou Women’s Basketball took down Murray State 76-70 to start the regular season last night (Thursday).
The Tigers moved to 12-0 in season openers under head coach Robin Pingeton.
Junior forward Aijha Blackwell paced the Tigers with 19 points and 15 boards.
Up next the Mizzou women will stay at home to host Morgan State this Sunday, November 14th at 7pm.
The St. Louis Blues lost 4-3 to the Nashville Predators in overtime at the Enterprise Center last night (Thursday).
Jordan Kyrou scored twice for the Blues and Jordan Binnington made 23 saves.
St. Louis is now 8-2-2 on the season.
