Mexico Man With Serious Injuries After Being Hit By Train
A Mexico man has serious injuries after being hit by a train early this morning (Wednesday).
Mexico Public Safety responded to the Morris Street railroad crossing around 2:08 this morning in reference to an injured person.
Responding personnel learned that 40 year old James T. Hicks was walking along the tracks just east of the crossing.
Hicks was able to get the attention of an Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputy who was driving by.
Audrain Ambulance District responded and transported Hicks to the University Hospital.
Public Safety says there had been a train stopped in the area, which left about 15 minutes prior to the call.
The incident is still under investigation.
