Two Columbia Middle School Students Assaulted on Bus Yesterday
Two Columbia middle school students were assaulted on bus No. 228 servicing Lange Middle School yesterday morning (Tuesday).
The district said a juvenile, not a bus rider, forced his way onto the bus at the scheduled stop near Brown Station Road and Sherwood Drive and assaulted two students.
The bus driver removed the suspect from the bus whom the district said was actively seeking specific victims.
The suspect was found and detained by CPD on two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of fourth-degree assault and taken to the Boone County Juvenile Office, later released to his parents.
No other students were injured and Columbia Police said no weapons were involved.
