A candle is believed to be the causes of a small house fire near Nifong Park in Columbia last (Wednesday) night.
Fire crews report it started around 7 at a residence in the 4000 block of Ponderosa Street.
Apparently a candle caught a mattress on fire causing damage to the carpet.
No injuries are being reported.
