94th Annual New Franklin Basketball Tournament Wraps Up
The 94th annual New Franklin basketball tournament is now a wrap.
On Friday night, girls play wrapped up with the Community R-VI Lady Trojans adding hardware to their trophy case, winning the championship over the host New Franklin Lady Bulldogs 30 – 25.
Olivia Kuda led the Lady Trojans with a dozen points.
Other girls scores include Bunceton with Prairie Home taking 7th place, beating Westran 53 – 50.
Fayette beat Sturgeon in the consolation game 50 – 47, and third place went to Pilot Grove, beating Sweet Springs 52 – 36.
In boys action Saturday night, the Trojans beat Sturgeon 64 to 56, led by Gavin Allen with 29 and Mason Carroll with 19 to take 3rd place.
Sweet Springs took 7th place by beating Bunceton with Prairie Home, Fayette beat Pilot Grove in the consolation game, and the number rr2 seed New Franklin Bulldogs knocked off the number one seed Westran to take home the championship 55 – 41.
