MAN CHARGED IN AUDRAIN MURDER IN COURT TODAY

One of 3 people suspected in the shooting death of Leon Wilder on July 6 had a preliminary hearing this afternoon in the Audrain County Courthouse.

Richard Henry II is facing an 8 count indictment which includes first degree murder, armed criminal action, drug trafficking and tampering with a witness.

Law enforcement officers from Audrain and Boone County Sheriff’s office gave testimony as to evidence that had been recovered. Each deputy was asked to identify photographs of evidence collected in various locations.

Judge Linda Hamlett ruled there is probable cause for Henry to answer the charges, but said she heard no evidence presented in today’s hearing supporting the charge of tampering with a witness.

Henry will appear in court again on October 20 at 9AM.
