Democratic U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill is putting some distance between herself and her Republican opponents in the fundraising department.
The campaign announced yesterday (Thursday) that she had raised 2.9 million between July and the end of September.
The senator spent around 1 million and has more than seven million cash on hand.
Her top rival Republican Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, raised close to 820 thousand dollars and has 782 thousand in cash to spend.
The senate race next year is expected to be expensive and very close.
