Boone County Deputies are searching for a suspect in connection with a reported home invasion robbery early this (Monday) morning in Columbia.
According to the department it happened around 1 am in the 5900 block of Teresa Drive located in the Gregory Heights subdivision.
Deputies report a 51 year old man heard his back door forced open and was confronted by a male holding a handgun.
A scuffle ensued and the suspect fired one shot and then fled the residence on foot heading west on Teresa Drive.
The male victim sustained a cut to the head, the victims wife, and son were at home at the time and were uninjured.
The suspect is described as a male, unknown race, about six feet tall and wearing a dark colored hoodie.
The investigation is continuing.
