The Youth Deer Season numbers are coming in and they are up over last year.
Norman Steelman Audrain County Conservation Agent says the youth deer season held on October 28th and 29th saw 17,410 deer taken statewide which is up compared to the 11,175 from last year.
Steelman says the reason for the increase in numbers this year is due to the weather, as last year the temperature was in the 80’s.
