MAN SHOT DURING COLUMBIA HOME INVASION ROBBERY

A man is recovering from injuries after being shot during a home invasion in Columbia last (Tuesday) night.

According to Columbia Police it happened at 10 last (Tuesday) night at the 3900 block of Mint Julep Drive.

A preliminary investigation revealed the male victim was entering his residence when two suspects approached him brandishing a firearm and forcing their way into the house, where a woman and two children were inside.

The suspects are said to have fired multiple shots inside the residence, hitting the male victim with the gunfire.

The woman and children were not injured, the male victim was transported to a local hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.
