Columbia Police officers are investigating an attempted home invasion in the 3200 block of Mexico Gravel Road.
Police say it happened before 9:51 last (Sunday) night when the occupant of a residence answered the door finding a person armed with a firearm.
Police say the suspect described as a man wearing a mask and gloves, tried to get into the home however was unable.
The victim then got a firearm and fired rounds while inside the house, with the suspect leaving the area on foot.
No injuries were reported.
