COLUMBIA VOTERS TO DECIDE ON BALLOT QUESTION FOR NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL

An approval for a 30 million dollar bond ballot question for construction of a new middle school in Columbia was given by the board of education last (Monday) night.

The board voted to approve language to go on a ballot in April of next year.

The school is hoping the new school will address overcrowding at the Gentry Middle School which was built to hold 650 students, but currently has 900 students in attendance.

The new school will be built on Sinclair Road.
