MAJOR CASE SQUAD DISBANDED IN AUDRAIN DEATH INVESTIGATION

The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad was disbanded late last week in relation to the death of 19 year old Antonio Jefferson on Audrain County Road 913 on December 12.

Sheriff Matt Oller said all the leads have been followed up on, and have provided few answers of what occurred that day. He said there have been no new leads recently, and investigators still need help from the public.

Jefferson was seen on surveillance camera at Wal-Mart at 11:30 alone and in his brother’s 2001 Pontiac Gran Prix. There is no information on the 30 minutes between the time Jefferson left Wal-Mart and when the car was found crashed and on fire, and Jefferson was laying in the roadway nearby with injuries inconsistent with a crash.

Oller asks that anyone with information to call Crimestoppers, and anonymously provide any information.
