DISTRACTED DRIVING BANNED IN COLUMBIA

Motorists in Columbia will need to pay closer attention to the road after the city council approved a distracted driving ban last (Monday) night.

A number of things such as eating, texting, reading a map, or any activity that takes away drivers attention from the task of driving is considered a distraction.

This is part of Columbia’s Vision Zero plan to eliminate all traffic-related deaths by 2030.

City officials will now talk about what the consequences of distracted will be.
