One person is dead and another is hospitalized with serious injuries after a house fire in Jefferson City.

According to Jefferson City Fire Officials it happened in the 700 block of Walsh Street around 4:30 this (Wednesday) morning.

The house sustained heavy fire damage, and an investigation is ongoing.
