The Missouri Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory this evening.

MoDot says crews will be out in most of Northeast Missouri to put down material where it is needed, and to monitor roads and bridges, but says black ice can be deceiving on pavement.

Many area residents will be commuting home from work this afternoon, and it is important to plan ahead, drive slowly and cautiously and always wear a seat belt.
