HOT TORCH LEFT NEAR FLAMMABLE ITEMS TO BLAME FOR MEXICO BUILDING FIRE

A torch left near some flammable material is to blame for fire to a Morton Building in Mexico yesterday (Monday).

Mexico Public Safety reports it happened just after 4:30, in the 1700 Block of East Liberty.

Personnel found heavy smoke coming from the building and the fire was located in the back and put out.

Heavy fire damage is being reported to the back of the building, and the rest of the structure suffered smoke and heat damage.

An investigation revealed the owner of the building was using a torch and left it near some flammable material.

There no injuries from the incident.
