STUDENT AT UNIVERSITY MISSOURI SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CHARGED WITH MAKING TERRORISTIC THREATS

Charges are being brought against a student who allegedly threatened to open fire with an assault rifle on the campus of the University of Missouri Science and Technology in Rolla.

The University reports Alexander Beetler made the threat on Sunday, and was arrested yesterday (Wednesday).

Police say they served a search warrant at his residence which resulted in a weapon and ammunition being found.

Beetler is being charged with first degree terroristic threat, armed criminal action and first degree assault.

The school has temporarily suspended Beetler.
