A man is in the Boone County Jail after taking deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash early this (Friday) morning.

According to deputies it started shortly after 1 am when they responded to 4407 Belleview Drive where a 40 year old woman said she had been assaulted and not allowed to leave.

When deputies arrived they say 33 year old Joshua K. Welch took off in the woman’s car leading a pursuit that ended in a crash off Scott Boulevard in the Country Hill Estates.

Deputies report Welch drove through several yards before hitting a concrete sewer cover and was found hiding in some nearby bushes where he was arrested.

Inside the car deputies found marijuana, a substance that tested positive for meth, and numerous counterfeit bills.
