A burn pile is believed to be the cause of a ten acre fire just outside of Columbia yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

According to Boone County Fire Officials it was near the Route Z exit off of I-70.

No injuries or building damages were reported.

Fire Officials warn that burn piles are dangerous this time of the year due to the dry and windy weather conditions.
