Charges of statutory rape and contact with a student are being brought against a former high school teacher in the Moniteau County R-1 School District.

According to prosecutors 27 year old Clairyssa Lorenz was charged yesterday (Thursday) for the contact that allegedly happened last year (2017) with a student who was 16 at the time.

Investigators say the victim told them he had sex with Lorenz at his home on multiple occasions.

The school district says that Lorenz no longer works there.
