The Audrain County Prosecutor’s Office will not be seeking the death penalty against a man accused of shooting Leon Wilder III outside Centralia in July of last year.

A notice was filed with the court on Friday that Richard Henry II, who is charged with first degree murder, drug trafficking, and abandonment of a corpse among numerous other charges, will instead face life in prison.

According to court records, Wilder’s body was found on County Road 997, with a gunshot wound.
