One person was seriously injured in an ATV accident in Camden County over the weekend.

The Highway Patrol says the accident happened when 54 year old Michael Gipson, of Claremore, Oklahoma, swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. Michael Gipson, and his passenger, 52 year old Jessie Gipson, also of Claremore, were ejected from the ATV.

Michael Gipson was not injured in the accident.

Jessie Gipson was Life Flighted to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
