Two people sustained serious injuries in a crash involving a semi truck in Monroe County on Saturday.

The crash happened 17 year old Nolan Pennewell, of Monroe City, was attempting to cross U.S. 36 and hit the trailer of a Freightliner driven by Michael Pribble of Illinois.

The semi then traveled east until the trailer lost it’s axles and the unit overturned.

A passenger in the Freighliner, Deborah Durando sustained minor injures and was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Pennewell and Pribble were taken Hannibal Regional with serious injuries.
