A Jefferson City man is being accused of a rape again.

Charges of first degree rape were brought against Jemell Butler on Monday in connection with an incident in Columbia in April last year.

According to court records DNA evidence taken from a woman victim’s clothing the night of the alleged assault matched a profile of Butler’s.

In 2015 Butler faced three separate cased related to rape and robbery.

A jury acquitted him of threatening a woman he met on the website backpage.com with a knife to perform a sex act.

Another robbery case was dropped against him in June of 2016.
