UNION MAN ARRESTED ON FORGERY CHARGES IN MEXICO, MO

An Union Missouri man is facing forgery charges after an arrest in Mexico, Missouri yesterday (Thursday).

According to Mexico Public Safety 46 year old Edward R. Smith was arrested after an alert employee said he came into their business in the 500 block of West Jackson and presented fake identification documents in an effort to obtain credit.

Police say it is believed that Smith successfully passed similar fake documents in other jurisdictions and could be facing additional charges.

He was taken to and processed at the Audrain County Jail.
