DNA LEADS TO ARREST, CHARGES AGAINST HOLTS SUMMIT MAN

Columbia Police and the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man for an attack on a woman in November.

48 year old Anthony Todd Rowell is charged with kidnapping and rape on a woman after she called an Uber.

Rowell allegedly picked up the victim after she had been drinking with friends at Harpo’s and Ten Below Bar.

She told investigators she didn’t remember leaving the bar, but remembered being in a gold mini-van with a man yelling at her.

She was tased before Rowell reportedly threatened her and held her head between her legs. she was then taken to another location where what she described as “bad things happened to her.” She was taken to another location and pushed out of the van.

DNA evidence led police to Rowell and a search of his home uncovered the taser with a long hair attached to the striking end.

Rowell had previously been arrested for an attempted abduction in January. In that incident, he spoke to a woman, grabbed her hair and pulled her toward his car window.
