A motion to dismiss was filed in the Carl DeBrodie wrongful death lawsuit yesterday. [Friday]
The lawsuit is filed against 23 defendants, including Second Chance Homes and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
The basis of the lawsuit claims the defendants failed to provide for DeBrodie’s safety and attempted to cover up the circumstances of his death. Additionally, the lawsuit cites wrongful death, negligence, and civil rights violations.
DeBrodie was reported missing from Second Chance Homes just before the company was set to be taken over by Finck and Associates. DeBrodie was later found encased in concrete in a storage unit.
