A vehicle pursuit that started in Mexico and ended in Auxvasse leads to the arrest of a Mexico man and a Middletown woman.

According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office they went to the Value Inn on South Clark in Mexico around 6pm Saturday to follow up on information about a stolen vehicle.

Officers say they found 19 year old Philip Rotte and 24 year old Lindsey Slay sitting in a parked vehicle.

When deputies approached, they say Slay backed the vehicle out of the parking space, ignoring officers orders to stop, and pulled away at a high rate of speed nearly striking law enforcement members.

A pursuit ensued and ended in Auxvasse with both of their arrests, multiple charges are pending.
