Local residents are mourning the loss of the former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Tony Senors American History teacher at the Mexico High School says he was just in grade school when Bush visited the Mexico Military Academy in 1996 on her Literacy Tour.

Senors was a part of the choir at the Eugene Field Elementary School in Mexico that was invited to perform for Barbara Bush at the Missouri Military Academy.

Senor says he has shared the story of Barbara Bush’s visit to Mexico with his history class before but will be talking about again today (Wednesday).
