Attorneys for Missouri Governor Eric Greitens are filing a motion asking that the St. Louis Attorney’s Office be taken off the new criminal case against him.
James Bennett, a lawyer who represents Greitens, filed the motion yesterday (Monday) afternoon in the felony computer tampering charges.
The governor is accused of taking a list of donors that gave to his charity organization the Mission Continues and helped raise money for his gubernatorial campaign.
The charity claims Governor Greitens was never given permission to use the list.
The lawyer for Governor Greitens is also asking the judge to keep from appointing the Missouri Attorney General’s Office as a special prosecutor, should the St. Louis Attorney’s Office be disqualified.
