New Bloomfield Audit Short of Signatures

The amount of signatures needed to trigger an audit of New Bloomfield is now 11 votes short.

According to reports from KRCG TV, 13 people have rescinded their signatures after an effort last week by Alderman Rosemary Augustine and City Clerk Cassi Knierim went door to door asking people who signed the petition to rescind their support for the audit.

A group of concerned citizens from New Bloomfield had collected 102 signatures which was over the required 100 signatures to trigger the audit.

The group who circulated the petition wanted an audit after controversies around the operation of the city resulted with the resignation of the city’s police chief Greg Mooney.

The group will now have until March 19th to come up with the additional signatures
