An 80 year old Mexico, Missouri man is recovering from minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle yesterday (morning) and the driver has been arrested for the leaving the scene of the accident.

According to Mexico Public Safety it happened in the 400 block of Fairground just after 9:30 yesterday (Wednesday) morning.

An investigation revealed that a vehicle was weaving through traffic congestion and hit Charles Thomas while he was trying to cross the street.

Police say the driver 28 year old Nikolas B. Clark then left the scene and his vehicle was found at an apartment complex a short time later where an arrest was made.

Clark was taken to the Audrain County Jail.
