More than 150 Homeless Students In Mexico

The Mexico Board of Education was presented with an update on the number of homeless and foster students within the district at their meeting last night. [Tuesday]

According to the report, families living together due to financial hardships make up the largest part of the homeless students.

Currently 177 students are identified as homeless, of that number, 169 students are living in a doubled up situation, 5 live in hotels, and 3 live in shelters.

The district currently has 7 foster kids in the high school, 6 in the middle school, and 20 elementary age students.
