Columbia City Manager “Knowingly” Violated Sunshine Laws

A Boone County Judge ruled Columbia City Manager, Mike Matthes, knowingly violated Missouri’s “Sunshine Law” when he refused to release public documents to the Columbia Police Officers Association.

The sunshine laws call for full transparency from public entities.

The maximum fine of one thousand dollars will be paid by the city.

The court will determine on May 29 how much the City of Columbia will have to pay for attorney’s fees.
