A Mokane man is being held without bond in the Callaway County Jail after allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle and crashing it into another vehicle and a residence yesterday afternoon. [Wednesday]

According to the Callaway Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred int he area of Highway 94 and State Road D near Portland around 2:53.

Deputies investigating the incident located 28 year old Michael Schnieders, who initially gave them a false identity. After he was positively identified, he was found to have several warrants for his arrest.
